Water is the source of life. 70% of the body of a normal person is water, and the moisture content in the epidermis is between 10% and 30%. Therefore, the importance of moisturizing has been emphasized year after year.
The consequences of skin dehydration:
▲The stratum corneum is dry, chipping, shedding, cracking, and keratinization is accelerated
▲Transparency is reduced, rough
▲Easier to be irritated
▲Aging faster
 
The function of moisturizing is to keep moisture on the skin without losing too quickly. Moisturizing does not only refer to applying moisturizing cream. In fact, the skin itself has a very perfect moisturizing system. Its working principle is like a water conservancy project:

▲The dermis is the source of water, which is the "reservoir". The intercellular substance of the dermis conserves a lot of water. If the intercellular substance (collagen, hyaluronic acid) is lacking, the water holding capacity of the dermis will decrease.
▲The interstitium of epidermal cells and NMF suck out the water in the dermis like a water pump to moisturize the epidermis (especially the stratum corneum).
▲Sweat mixes sebum secreted by sebaceous glands and natural moisturizing factor (NMF) to form a moisturizing film (sebum film) to prevent water loss.

1. Do moisturizing:
protect the skin as much as possible, give play to the skin's own moisturizing ability, and make this function work normally.
The main principle is not to damage the skin, not excessively clean the skin, and to protect the health and vitality of the dermis and epidermis, so that the skin's own water-holding capacity can be guaranteed.
 
2. Apply moisturizing
A good moisturizing skin care product should contain a certain amount of moisturizer (moisture absorbent), oil (sealing agent) and emollient in the formula, or use the above types of ingredients to cooperate with each other to achieve a comprehensive moisturizing effect.

3. Eat moisturizing
▲Through diet conditioning, the skin has a better hydrated state.
▲Supplement of collagen can improve the water holding capacity of the dermis;
▲Supplement vitamin C and E to reduce the loss of collagen.

4. Live moisturizing
▲Pay attention to improving the environmental humidity. This is especially true in dry winters and in the cold north of heated indoors. Humidifiers should be necessary; wet towels and sponges can be placed in front of the computer; large-leaf green plants should be planted indoors;
▲ Stay up late. Staying up late is traditionally regarded as "injury yin" in China, which will cause the consumption of body fluids. The reason is currently unknown, but it does cause dry skin and chapped lips;
▲Avoid the wind. You should wear a mask when you go out in windy days. One is that Asians have more sensitive skin (including wind), and the other is that the faster the air flow, the greater the water loss. Wearing a mask can effectively reduce the loss of facial moisture in the wind.
