Commonly used laser hair removal equipment

1. Long-pulse alexandrite laser: With a wavelength of 755nm, it is the most widely used laser hair removal equipment in clinical practice. It is suitable for various parts of hair, especially for special parts such as lips and hairline. It is easy to operate. The selectivity for skin color is relatively low, the side effects are mild, and the postoperative erythema papules reaction can be alleviated by cold compresses. It is currently a treatment device with a high safety factor for hair removal treatment.

2. Semiconductor laser: The semiconductor laser hair removal machine is currently one of the most clinically used laser hair removal systems, with a wavelength of 808nm or 810nm. In terms of wavelength, hair follicle melanin has relatively strong light absorption in this wavelength band, which can effectively damage hair follicles; epidermal melanin absorbs more semiconductor laser energy, so it has advantages for dark skin hair removal treatment.

3. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): It is a discontinuous light source with multiple wavelength combinations. Because it is a single wavelength, the selectivity is less than that of lasers, but the pain is relatively small during treatment, and the operation is quick and easy to operate with a large spot. Convenient, the depth of action can be adjusted through the selection of the filter, and the treatment cost is low.

4. Ruby laser: The wavelength is 694nm, which is the shortest wavelength in the clinical hair removal laser. The laser energy is easily absorbed by the melanin in the epidermis, so it is most suitable for patients with dark hair and fair skin.

5. Long pulse width Nd: YAG laser has proven to have obvious hair removal effect, especially thick black hair. The incidence of other adverse reactions such as pigment changes is very low, and it is especially suitable for patients with dark skin.

6. E-light technology: E-light uses the synergistic effect of electric energy and light energy. The heat energy of electric energy is concentrated on the hair follicles and hair papilla, and the heat energy of light energy is concentrated on the hair shaft, so that the hair shaft and hair follicle are destroyed and the hair removal effect is achieved.

Of course, no matter what we want to emphasize is that although the current hair removal technology is very mature and very effective, it is very difficult to achieve permanent hair removal in an absolute sense: it is very difficult for a hair not to grow and never have any hair growth. The use of various types of lasers or a new generation of strong light for hair removal treatment can only achieve long-term hair reduction rather than permanent hair removal.
